Torch is a stopgap measure at best. It can only hope to stem the tide of BlackBerry defectors, but clearly it has no hope of stealing customers from iPhone and Android. That’s bad news, considering iPhone and Android are rolling in cash by stealing customers from RIM. Clearly RIM needs to be less concerned about the party clothes, and more concerned about what’s beneath.

The growing use of graphics cards as surrogate supercomputers could spell trouble for users of short passwords. Researchers say the growing number of processors on graphics cards will soon make it trivial for them to crack short passwords. A password of seven characters or less will soon be “hopelessly inadequate” they claim. The researchers suggest passwords should be at least 12 characters long to be safe.

Samsung N110 Continues to NOT be on Amazon

Yes, I have been checking every day. I even wrote them a note. I want that netbook!

I’m waiting for it to be on Amazon specifically because I have a rather large gift certificate I intend to use. But if you check the US Samsung official site, they have two other online retailers listed and you can buy directly from them. Awesome! Makes me wish I had an affiliate link for Samsung. And a gift certificate. So it goes.

I wouldn’t balk at other people writing to remind them that a netbook of this caliber would certainly make an excellent addition to their catalog. I’m not the only one, right?
